I am working on the natural science analogies in economic modeling. I am particularly interested in the models developed by the economists of the Soviet Union in the 1920s and 1930s, especially those of Vladimir Bazarov. He used analogies with chemical reactions to model the “restoration process” of the Soviet economy after the revolution and the logic of a pendulum to explain the general equilibrium. This work involves the detailed analysis of primary sources and also the analysis of economic journals of the time.
